Carteret Community College wishes to create and maintain an environment where mutual respect and civility guide the interactions of all members of the College community and where students feel safe to ask questions, learn, and interact. All members of the College community are expected to display the qualities of courtesy, respect, and integrity that characterize mature individuals.  To these ends, the College shall publish and follow procedures to ensure that the campus is a safe and productive place of learning for all. The Student Code of Conduct applies to any College activity, function, or event on or off campus or in a college-owned vehicle.

Furthermore, the administration shall annually review these procedures to ensure that the consequences for violations are timely and relevant and that the investigation process is as transparent as possible, within the limits of an individual's right to privacy, and to ensure that consequences are justified and give consideration to opportunities for personal growth and betterment.

The Student Code of Conduct and associated procedures for violations are detailed and published annually in the Student Handbook.
